The Meet-Ups for the rest of 2025 will take place on the following dates:

Friday 20th June from 13.00 to 14.30 BST

Values and Prosperity

“Money can’t buy me love” Paul McCartney told us some 60 years ago, and most of us would agree with him, although we may feel we can’t do without it either.

But even if we agree that love and other values are more important to us than material things like, money, success, and celebrity, do we always put those values first in our lives? Or do we often compromise and fudge, trying to have our cake and eat it?

We explore the choices we make in our lives and the values that drive them with three very different speakers who have all made major changes of direction in their lives. They are:

John McConnel: a stress management trainer and former prison governor and social worker. He has a strong interest in the practical application of spiritual principles and insights in daily life and runs courses, workshops and retreats designed to empower people. He is the editor of Living Our Values: an inside-out approach to change your life for the better (2013) and the author of Breaking Through the Darkness – how to defeat, depression, anxiety and stress (2020).

Shaileen Shah: after a successful career working for major technology consulting firms and leading international banks, Shaileen became a Happiness Coach, Speaker and Trainer. He is certified in The Science of Happiness and shares through Happy Life Habits, a business for good. Happy Life Habits Positively Impacts Happiness & Well Being Levels by creatively and uniquely combining Personal Development + The Science of Happiness + Spirituality.

Nicola Pye: Nicola left a 22-year corporate career at a global advisory firm to build a values-led leadership coaching and culture consultancy business. Swapping status and salary for purpose and impact, she now helps leaders of SMEs and charities drive positive change and build cultures that work – for everyone.

Friday 19th September from 13.00 to 14.30 BST

Values in Public Life

We revisit one of our major themes from last year – how is it that well-meaning people appear to have lost their moral bearings in so many areas of our public life, and what can be done to address this?

Friday 12th December from 13.00 to 14.30 GMT

Values for 2026

What are the values that we will need to rely on most in 2026? We will explore how we can best navigate the year ahead and the values that will be guiding and supporting us.
