Following the great success of last year’s Stories on Values competition, which showcased wonderfully imaginative stories from children around the world, the Human Values Foundation is holding the competition again to mark this year’s World Values Day (19 October).

Just like last year, schools and other organisations involved with children aged from 7 to 11 years from all over the world can take part in this story writing competition.  The stories can be fictional or based on real experiences (personal or otherwise) but must be original and centred around one chosen value, and no more than 350 words long. They can be illustrated, although that is not mandatory.  All stories must be submitted by Friday 13 October 2017 at the latest.

For full details please go to http://www.humanvaluesfoundation.com/story-competition.html

During the run up to World Values Day and on the Day itself, many of the stories will appear on the Human Values Foundation website and also on World Values Day website.

There will be prizes awarded for the best 8 stories consisting of book tokens to a total value of £300 for the relevant schools’ libraries.  All the children whose stories are published by us will be given certificates and so will their schools.

Any school or organisation interested in entering the competition please register your interest by emailing  yes2values@hvf.org.ukgiving the name of your school/organisation, a contact name and a contact telephone number.

The competition is open to children aged between 7 and 11 years old only.  However, younger children can if they wish submit drawings, paintings or posters (A4 size if possible) on the theme of values, and the Foundation will publish the best of these in a similar way to the stories..
